Lunar Glow Event

Overview

The Lunar Glow Event was a limited-time event in *Grow a Garden* that introduced new features, an exclusive NPC, and rewards.

The event featured the Wise Old Owl NPC, who tasked users with harvesting Moonlit plants, and later, Bloodlit plants. The theme drew inspiration from the night cycle and nocturnal imagery. The event was extended by one week after community backlash for Update 1.07.0 - The Lunar Glow Event officially ended May 31, 2025.

Mechanics

Lunar Points

• Users were tasked with finding Moonlit crops and exchanging them for at the Wise Old Owl.
• The Grow a Garden Lunar Points

per plant were dependent on its tier and certain mutations.
• Points were then used to fulfill a list of milestones that awarded a set of items.
• Once the last milestone was reached, the player could reset the quest for 500 or 500,000,000 . (used to be 1,000,000,000 )

Night Cycle

• Hourly Night Events occurred every hour, lasting for 10 minutes.
• During Night, plants gained the Moonlit mutation.
• The Meteor Shower was introduced in Update 1.06.0. Crops hit with falling meteors would be given the Celestial mutation.

Blood Moon Cycle

• The Blood Moon was released in Update 1.06.0, which had a 1 in 3 chance to replace regular Night events.
• This event brought the Bloodlit mutation with it, which offered extra Grow a Garden Lunar Points

when exchanged with the Wise Old Owl.
• The Meteor Shower was introduced in Update 1.06.0. Crops hit with falling meteors would be given the Celestial mutation.

If a user submits a crop with *both* the Bloodlit and Moonlit mutations, the Wise Old Owl will only consider the Bloodlit mutation for points.

Trivia

• The Lunar Glow Event was removed on May 24, 2025 (Update 1.07.0) but was later readded back on the same day in Update 1.07.1.
• The Lunar Glow Event lasted for 3 weeks, making it longest event along with the Bizzy Bees Event.
• The Wise Old Owl appears to be a male.
• The Lunar Glow Event was the third Event added in Grow a Garden.
• It was the first Event to have and feature a different currency as obtainment needs.
• During the last hours before the Bizzy Bee Event Update, Jandel stated that the Wise Old Owl would later reappear cooked in a BBQ. A Grilled Moon Owl cosmetic was then given out to all players during the last few hours before the Bizzier Bees Update, with plans of releasing it as a pet for everyone.
• This was due to him activating two consecutive Nights at the time and both of the Twilight Shops having a "bad" stock.
• The night event is still present as of now, but instead of happening every hour, its starts every 4 hours at XX:30.
