The center part of the Bone Blossom fruit looks similar to a
Peach or
Big Nectarine with bones.
Prior to its release, Jandel hinted in a message toward a new Blossom-type seed that is supposed to be better than
Candy Blossom, known to be the best seed in the game. This seed is confirmed to be it, as stated by Jandel after its release.
It is currently the first (and only) "Transcendent" rarity crop introduced in the game. The "Transcendent" tag cycles from a dark blue to a purple color, similar to how the Aurora mutation looks. When the crop focus switches from one Bone Blossom crop to another, the text will be replaced with a purple heart emoji ("💜") for a fraction of a second. This goes for every Transcendent plant. This is probably due to Aurora plants having the same text effect as Transcendent plants. This has been fixed as of update 1.14.0.

Bone Blossom has the second highest base value in the game currently, at Sheckle 200,000.
The Bone Blossom was unobtainable without admin or tester permissions for three and a half days after the release of the
Prehistoric Event, which is 84 hours, due to needing to wait for the quests to change. This was no longer a problem after the second part of the
Prehistoric Event when bonus quests were added.
